Timeless Traditions, Wild Spaces

A New Hampshire based Scottish Highland cattle, and bison farm.

In 2013, we expanded our operation at Yankee Farmer's Market and took on Pitcher Mountain Farm in Stoddard, NH. Pitcher Mountain Farm is a Historic, beautiful 220-acre farm offering pastureland, hay fields, rolling acres, and amazing 360-degree views. It had been operated as a Grass Fed Scottish Highland Beef farm for over 75 years. We are preserving it's history by continuing to raise these amazing animals on this farm. As the local meat demand grew, so did our need for more acreage to raise animals. Check out the local area and all it has to offer!

Scottish Highland Cattle

Pitcher Mountain Farm is a Historic, beautiful 220 acre farm & home of our Highland Cows & Buffalo. Scottish Highland cattle are a hardy and ancient breed, known for their long horns and thick, shaggy coats that protect them in harsh climates. Their gentle grazing helps promote biodiversity and supports healthy pasture ecosystems.

Haying

We harvest our hay twice a season. We have about 90+ acres that gets cut each season. Each large bale weighs approximately 1,500 lbs and feeds about 20 animals for 1 day! Hay is like a cozy winter blanket and a hearty meal packed into one for our animals during the colder months. And hey, if you ever want to learn more or see it in action, drop by for a visit. We love sharing our farm adventures!

American Buffalo

Bison are majestic and powerful animals, symbolizing the wild spirit of North America. They play a vital role in maintaining grassland ecosystems through their natural grazing habits and movement. The herd at Pitcher Mountain ranges from 20-50 head.

“We're kind of a next generation coming along to try to offer super consciously raised meats, and just provide open space for animals and we want healthy, vibrant animals that are self-sustaining.”

Rich History

Pitcher Mountain Farm has long been an important part of Stoddard's agricultural landscape. The farm continues this tradition today, operating as a beef livestock farm. The farm is part of a larger conservation area that includes Andorra Forest. The Faulkner family, who have been associated with the farm, began purchasing timberlands in New Hampshire in the early 1900s, contributing to critical conservation efforts in the region.
