Cooking Grass-Fed Ground Beef:

Grass-fed ground beef is leaner than its grain-fed counterpart, requiring a gentler touch to ensure it remains juicy and flavorful.

1. Preparation: Let the meat come to room temperature by taking it out of the refrigerator 20-30 minutes before cooking. This promotes even cooking.

2. Seasoning: Season the beef with your preferred spices or simply with salt and pepper. Because grass-fed beef has a distinct flavor profile, you might want to start with minimal seasonings to enjoy its natural taste.

3. Heat Selection: Use a medium or medium-high heat. Remember, due to its lean nature, grass-fed beef can cook faster and dry out if the heat is too high.

4. Cooking: In a skillet or pan, add a small amount of oil or butter. Once hot, add the ground beef. Use a spatula or spoon to break apart the beef and stir occasionally for even cooking.

5. Doneness: Cook the beef until it's browned all over and no longer pink inside, typically 7-10 minutes for most dishes.

6. Rest & Serve: After cooking, let it rest for a couple of minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Then, serve as desired.

Remember, always pay attention to the beef while cooking, as its lean nature means it can go from perfectly cooked to overdone quickly.

All regular meat orders ship UPS on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for regular orders. Your order will always arrive in 2 days or less.

CSA shipping is on Monday or Tuesday of the CSA delivery week.

Custom Ordered Swag items (mugs, t-shirts, etc.) take 2–5 business days to make, and then they ship. Shipping time itself is based on your choice at checkout. If you order a Swag item and a meat item they will be shipped separately and shipping costs will be combined at checkout.

Products are charged by weight or by piece, depending on the product. The weight for any product on the site is estimated based on our current inventory. Once we have packed your order we calculate the final weights and then only charge you the actual cost of the order. Generally this is the same or less then your original order.

Thaw meat in the fridge, with cold water, or microwave. Do not thaw at room temp, or in a cool area, and do not use hot water. Do not leave meat at room temperature for more than two hours.
